TechRivian is finally adding a long-requested R1S feature — and no, it’s not CarPlay

Rivian will offer second-row captain’s chairs on the R1S as part of the 2027 R1 lineup refresh. Buyers must purchase the $2,500 Sound and Vision package, then pay another $1,500 to $2,000 for the seats. Rivian is also revising trim names, adding wheel and paint options, and raising starting prices.
