Shipping throughput through the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River reached 100 million metric tons by 12:40 a.m. Thursday, the Three Gorges Navigation Authority said. Locks handled 97.276 million tons across 21,562 passages, while the ship lift handled 2.724 million tons across 2,590 passages and 446,000 passenger trips.
