China’s zero-tariff policy for the 53 African countries with which it has diplomatic ties generated more than 730 million yuan ($106.6 million) in import savings at Guangzhou Customs during its first three months. From May 1 to July 31, eligible imports exceeded 730 million yuan and tariff reductions surpassed 80 million yuan. Guangzhou Customs’ trade with African countries rose 25.3% year on year in the first half of the year.
