TechNingbo becomes China’s first city to exceed 10 GW in distributed PV capacity
Ningbo in Zhejiang Province has surpassed 10 gigawatts of installed distributed photovoltaic capacity, becoming the first Chinese city to reach the milestone. Most systems are on rooftops, with industrial parks accounting for 84 percent. The facilities could generate 10 billion kWh of clean electricity annually and cut carbon dioxide emissions by about 5 million metric tons, while new grid-planning and monitoring tools address the volatility of solar generation.
