PoliticsTim Scott took Abdul El-Sayed’s quote out of context, CNN says
Sen. Tim Scott told CNN that people should believe something Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed supposedly said about himself. The account says Scott presented El-Sayed’s words without their surrounding context. An attack advertisement issued last week by the group Scott chairs likewise used the quote in that way. The report therefore challenges both Scott’s interview claim and the ad’s portrayal of El-Sayed’s statement.
