TechGoogle is making Pixel cameras better by making them worse
Today’s smartphone photos rarely show obvious technical flaws. Faces are bright and visible, skies look pristine and blue, and nighttime scenes are often well lit with little noise. Google is pursuing a counterintuitive approach for Pixel cameras: instead of endlessly correcting the physical limits of tiny sensors, it may allow images to retain more of those imperfections and appear less processed.
