PoliticsAndrew Bragg stands by proposed migration limits despite colleagues’ silence

Liberal senator Andrew Bragg is maintaining his call to reduce Australia’s net migration to 180,000 a year. The shadow housing minister argues that setting net overseas migration at 180,000 or below for four years could help address a housing shortfall measured against population growth. Angus Taylor and other Coalition figures have avoided publicly endorsing the target. In a wide-ranging speech, Bragg also expressed regret that he failed to stop what he called the Morrison government’s “madness.”
