Guangdong’s electricity demand reached a new record during a prolonged heatwave. The provincial power load climbed to 175.7 million kilowatts at 1:47 p.m. on Tuesday. Guangdong Power Grid, part of China Southern Power Grid, said this marked the fourth time the provincial grid has set a new high this year.
