WorldMass evacuations in Beijing as Typhoon Dolphin brings torrential rain to China

The remnants of Typhoon Dolphin are continuing to deliver torrential rain across northern and central China. Thousands of people have been evacuated from flood- and landslide-prone areas in Beijing. Forecasters warned that the capital could receive more than 150mm of rain in the next 24 hours, while some districts may exceed 200mm. Such totals would amount to more than one-third of Beijing’s average annual rainfall of 528mm.
