SocietyCanadian airline cancels flight after child refuses to wear seatbelt

A Porter Airlines flight from Victoria to Toronto was sent back to the terminal while taxiing toward the runway. The airline said a child was standing on the seat and would not remain secured with a seatbelt. Repeated efforts by the accompanying parent and crew to restrain the child in the seat were unsuccessful. The crew then had both passengers leave the aircraft, saying it could not depart safely, and the flight was cancelled.
