Typhoon Dolphin moved farther inland on Tuesday, reaching China’s central province of Hubei. Flooding swamped streets, prompted authorities to close tourist sites and brought construction work to a halt. Forecasters warned that extreme rainfall would affect a wide area of the country, while parts of Beijing also experienced flooding from the storm.
