SocietyHotel prices surge across Europe ahead of total solar eclipse

Hotel prices have risen sharply in several important European cities ahead of a total solar eclipse. Hundreds of thousands of visitors are travelling to watch the first eclipse of its kind visible from the continent this century. Reykjavík has recorded one of the steepest increases, with rooms costing twice their normal rate. Spain is also seeing particularly strong bookings. Reykjavík is among the few accessible places where the full eclipse can be viewed before evening arrives on Wednesday.
