SocietyClover Moore unveils Sydney plaza design after more than 40 years of planning
Sydney lord mayor Clover Moore has revealed plans for a 4,500-square-metre public plaza opposite Sydney Town Hall. The square is intended to help unify the city’s central business district, after the idea was first conceived more than four decades ago. The council is finalising talks with the owner of the last of seven buildings slated for acquisition and demolition. Moore called the project “fantastic”, while a business advocate warned that the demolition’s scale would create “unwanted disruption”.
