The Ukrainian Air Force said a MiG-29 caught fire on the evening of Aug. 10 while carrying out a combat mission in Odesa Oblast. The pilot tried to save the aircraft, but the jet ultimately could not be salvaged, according to the force. The pilot successfully ejected and survived the crash safely.
