A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake has struck western Colombia, with buildings reportedly collapsing or suffering severe damage in several major cities. Cali and Pereira are among the places affected by the reported destruction. US and Colombian geological surveys said the earthquake occurred at 7.34am local time on Monday. They placed its epicentre in the western department of Chocó. Tremors were also felt in neighbouring Venezuela.
