WorldCourt hears Fenech was ‘preparing champagne’ to celebrate Caruana Galizia murder

A taxi driver told a Maltese jury that he acted as an intermediary between businessman Yorgen Fenech and three men already convicted of carrying out the killing. Fenech is accused of paying €150,000 for the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. The witness said the businessman was impatient for the attack to happen. He allegedly sent a message from his boat saying he was “preparing champagne” to celebrate. Fenech is on trial for complicity in the 2017 car-bomb murder.
