CultureOverlooked Clara Peeters masterpiece found in museum storage

An unattributed still life discovered in a storage area at Norway’s National Museum in Oslo is being brought out of obscurity. Curator Cynthia Osiecki came across the work while studying Clara Peeters, a renowned 17th-century Flemish artist and one of the earliest practitioners of still-life painting. The painting had been buried after being judged not to be by Brueghel. It will now feature in a major exhibition of female artists.
