ScienceWhy were there no tiny dinosaurs? Mammals may hold the answer
Dinosaurs are widely associated with enormous bodies, especially the long-necked plant-eaters that included Argentinosaurus. That animal may have weighed 70 to 90 tons and stretched more than 100 feet, or 30 meters, making it among the largest land animals ever. Yet no dinosaur known to science appears to have been as small as a mouse. The absence of miniature dinosaurs may be linked to mammals, researchers suggest.
