WorldRussian forces now 20km from Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk
Russian forces are reported to have moved within 20 kilometres of the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian attacks on Kyiv and the surrounding region killed 17 people and wounded dozens on Wednesday. Ukraine’s depleted air defences failed to intercept any incoming missiles overnight. Zelenskyy again told allies that more air-defence systems are needed. The United Nations said July was the deadliest month for Ukrainian civilians since April 2022.
