SocietyAustralia news live: NSW man charged over alleged threats against female MP

Police allege that a man used social media to threaten to locate a woman and hurt her. He has been charged in New South Wales over the alleged threats of violence against a female member of parliament. Separately, states and territories have closed hundreds of childcare services judged to be sub-standard. Nearly 600 services were shut down in the latest quarter, a twentyfold rise from the same period last year, amid record enforcement. Officials also say the share meeting national quality and safety standards is at its highest level, while acknowledging more action is needed.
