CultureUkraine plans National Pantheon, but who belongs there?

Ukraine is moving toward creating a National Pantheon honoring generations of people who defended, built and shaped the country. The initiative follows years of Russian attacks that have damaged churches, museums, historic landmarks and other cultural sites. Ukrainian officials and many cultural experts say the destruction has reinforced the importance of such a national memorial. The country now faces the difficult question of deciding who should be included among its honored heroes.
