PoliticsOne Nation Victoria leader’s remarks raise questions over Hanson’s mass deportation policy
Warren Pickering, One Nation’s Victorian leader, previously described mass deportations in Australia as “not a reality” and said they “won’t happen.” The newly uncovered comments raise further questions about Pauline Hanson’s signature proposal to deport 75,000 people whom she says have overstayed their visas. Pickering was also reported to have acknowledged in podcast interviews that the party used so-called “ghost candidates.” These candidates did not actively campaign but were intended to help collect more Senate votes.
