Pope Leo XIV urged tens of thousands gathered in Paysandu for his first mass in Uruguay to become “bridge builders” and share the joy of their faith. The Vatican said about 40,000 attended despite rainy, blustery weather. The service was the first stop of his 12-day Latin America tour.
