TechEU says TikTok’s For You page must change

The European Commission says TikTok’s recommendation algorithm may expose users repeatedly to content about sadness, isolation, or body image, creating a “rabbit hole effect,” and has preliminarily found the platform in breach of online platform rules. It says existing safeguards are ineffective and demands changes to the For You feed, or TikTok could face fines of up to 6 percent of global annual turnover.
