PoliticsEU expands sanctions effort with new office and crypto task force

The EU will create a dedicated office to coordinate sanctions work, guide member states and improve data sharing. It is also launching a cryptocurrency sanctions task force to bring together EU and national experts to close loopholes used to evade restrictions. The group is initially expected to operate for 12 months, drawing on expertise from countries including Ukraine and the U.K.
