Meduza found that Russian regional laws requiring companies to hire veterans of the war with Ukraine have affected educational and cultural institutions. Veterans are encouraged to apply for teaching and school psychologist jobs, while state-funded institutions are recruiting them as ballet dancers, choir soloists and researchers. Quotas are usually 1%; they reach at least 4% in Krasnodar Krai and 3% in Rostov and Tambov regions and Yakutia.
