Russia has nearly 256,000 small and medium-sized businesses in its IT sector, up 15% in a year and almost 50% in five years, the Economic Development Ministry said. Some 183,000 focus on software development, while 73,000 provide data processing, portal maintenance, consulting and information services. Revenue in the latter area has risen 2.4-fold in five years.
