In Colombia, some members of an Indigenous group continue to practise female genital mutilation. One mother says her grandmother arranged for her baby to undergo the procedure without her knowledge. A landmark bill banning the practice has now taken effect in the country. The legislation represents a major legal step against a practice that remains present in parts of Colombia.
