EconomyMOL gets US license for preparatory work on buying Russian stake in NIS
Hungarian oil and gas company MOL said it received an additional license from the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control to prepare for acquiring a Russian stake in Serbian company NIS, including seeking some Russian government approvals. Valid through February 28, 2027, the license does not permit the deal’s completion, which would require separate OFAC authorization. MOL remains in talks with Gazprom Neft.
