TechAMD’s data center business booms as gaming takes a backseat

AMD’s latest earnings report shows data center revenue more than doubled from a year earlier to $6.7 billion. The figure also increased from $5.8 billion in the first quarter, while representing 107 percent growth from the $3.2 billion recorded in the same period last year. The company’s performance was driven by demand for AI capacity. At the same time, gaming revenue declined 31 percent, putting the contrasting businesses in sharper relief.
