ScienceNASA’s Swift telescope reenters Earth’s atmosphere
The US Space Force said NASA’s Swift space observatory reentered the atmosphere over Indonesia’s North Sumatra region at 7:39 a.m. EST Wednesday and burned up. The reentry ended its 22-year mission; NASA said some components may have survived. A 2026 effort to raise its orbit and delay reentry failed.
