EconomyCVS Health plans to separate its pharmacy chain

CVS Health plans to spin off its 9,000 pharmacies, in-store clinics and mail-order prescription business into a company called CVS Pharmacy. The remaining CVS Health will house insurer Aetna and benefits manager Caremark. The split is planned for early 2028, as the conglomerate faces scrutiny over healthcare costs and market dominance.
