Researchers at Northeastern University tested 12 TVs from 10 manufacturers. Most respected opt-outs from automatic content recognition (ACR), but Samsung and Roku continued sending some data, while Walmart’s Vizio TV appeared to ignore the opt-out. ACR analyzes TV audio or video to identify what is being watched.
