Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Americans largely voted against Republicans in the midterm congressional election to reject continued war with Iran, and Tehran endorsed that message. He warned that if the US government defied public will to serve international “paymasters and blackmailers,” it would face a “nightmare.” Donald Trump earlier said Iran was part of the Republican defeat.
