EconomyDavid Jones expected to enter administration after landlord talks collapse
The 188-year-old department store chain David Jones is expected to enter administration after last-minute talks between its private equity owner, Anchorage Capital Partners, and landlord Scentre Group failed. The retailer has suffered years of losses, weak consumer spending and poor store performance, and has not paid rent since September, according to Scentre’s chief executive.
