New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill told state ports on Nov. 2 that importing Russian diesel still violates federal law despite Donald Trump’s deal with Moscow. She urged ports to reject tankers involved, saying the trade would finance Russia’s war against Ukraine without lowering U.S. fuel costs. Sherrill also said Trump cannot waive the sanctions without certifying that Russian forces have withdrawn from Ukraine.
