WorldCongo opens mining fraud inquiry after copper and cobalt seizures
The Democratic Republic of Congo’s justice minister ordered judicial investigations this week into suspected mining fraud and mineral smuggling in Lualaba and Haut-Katanga provinces. Authorities had seized more than 500 trucks and thousands of metric tons of copper and cobalt, a government statement said.
