PoliticsRussia not abandoning international obligations to prevent torture, MFA says
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia’s withdrawal from the 1987 European Convention for the Prevention of Torture does not mean it is dropping its international obligations. The European convention stopped applying to Russia on November 1.
