On August 4, funerals were held for Ukrainians killed in a Russian ballistic-missile attack a week earlier, including three children. Across the border, an apparent drone strike hit a crowded beach area near Gelendzhik in Russia. Local authorities said seven people were killed and blamed Kyiv for the attack.
