At the 4th Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said the EU’s tendency to approach nearly every issue from a position of strength would bring no good, including for the bloc. He recalled warning at the previous conference that pressure and force would backfire, and cited protests, arrests and proposed social-media restrictions in Europe while asking whether European leaders would face sanctions over alleged human-rights violations.
