WorldDaphne Caruana Galizia was investigating suspected corruption when killed, jury told

A jury has been told that journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was investigating suspected corruption involving businessman Yorgen Fenech and members of Malta’s government when she was killed. Her son said she had been examining a leak from Electrogas, a company partly owned by Fenech. Fenech, heir to one of Malta’s largest fortunes, is on trial for murder. He is accused of commissioning and paying for her death in a car bombing in October 2017.
