Hope Haven in Whitehaven is one of six 24/7, open-access preventive mental health hubs being trialled in England. In its first five months, about 3,000 people received support, nearly half of whom had never used NHS mental health services. Local inpatient mental health admissions fell 24% between January and September compared with the same period last year.
