Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in Beijing on Monday. Wang said dialogue and negotiation are the way to resolve current Middle East conflicts and pledged continued Chinese efforts for regional peace. Bagheri said Iran would defend its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, was willing to negotiate, and hoped China would play a greater role in promoting peace.
