WorldHumanitarian mission was ready to evacuate more people from Alyoshki, ombudswoman says
Russian human rights ombudswoman Yana Lantratova said the humanitarian mission in Alyoshki had prepared to evacuate far more people than chose to leave. Up to 750 people were offered a chance to go, but many were afraid to register and numerous buses returned empty. She said the mission succeeded in its aim of protecting and assisting everyone.
