PoliticsChina considers Criminal Procedure Law amendments to strengthen rights protections

A 55-article draft amendment to China’s Criminal Procedure Law was submitted to the NPC Standing Committee for deliberation on Monday. It seeks to improve punishment of crime while protecting participants’ rights, and covers compulsory measures, case-related property, juvenile proceedings and foreign-related cases.
