Mohamed Menfi and authorities in eastern Libya welcomed a UN Security Council resolution extending the UN Support Mission in Libya’s mandate by 12 months. Menfi said it reaffirmed Libya’s sovereignty, unity and political-process frameworks. Eastern authorities called for unified institutions and elections. Thirteen council members voted for the measure; Russia and Greece abstained.
