SocietyGerman police probe needles found in Halloween candy

German police said needles and other sharp metal objects, including screws, were found in sweets children collected while trick-or-treating. They believe most or all were deliberately placed to cause harm. Reports came from several states; a child in Nuremberg bit down on a needle in chocolate but was unharmed. Some cases are being investigated as attempted aggravated assault.
