TechEurope’s AI labeling and transparency rules are now in effect
The European Union has begun enforcing additional rules intended to help people recognize chatbots and AI-generated deepfakes online. The new transparency duties under the bloc’s landmark AI Act took effect on August 2. Companies must disclose when users are interacting with AI models and identify whether content has been produced by AI. The measures are designed to make online encounters with synthetic content easier to identify.
