WorldFrance opens attempted-murder probe into petrol-bomb attacks on police

French prosecutors have opened an attempted-murder investigation after petrol bombs were thrown at security forces during protests in Paris. Thirteen members of a gendarmerie unit were injured, and no suspects have been arrested. More than 770 people were arrested nationwide, while 159 law-enforcement members were injured during protests and Halloween celebrations.
