EconomyUkraine loses nearly 1.9% of GDP to explosions since start of year
TASS calculations based on Ukrainian government reports put the economic losses from explosions between January and October 2026 at about $4.28 billion, nearly 1.9% of nominal GDP, excluding metallurgy. Ukraine is now recording zero growth, with recessions in the second and third quarters; the National Bank expects a 0.4% contraction for the year. If metallurgical firms do not restart, annual GDP losses could reach 7% year over year.
